Oslo International Theatre (Oslo Internasjonale Teater / OIT) discovers contemporary international plays not seen in Norway previously, translates them into Norwegian, and produces rehearsed readings of these plays on a regular basis. Our performances are open to the public, but we also target the theatre industry especially, to promote the plays to Norwegian theatres and theatre companies.

We also organize workshops and other events related to new writing, always with a focus on international exchange.

OIT started as a collaboration between Imploding Fictions and Teatersirkus, launched in 2009. Today OIT is run by Imploding Fictions. OIT is an NGO and run as an idealistic, non-profit venture.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions you might have. You can get in touch with OIT via oslointernasjonaleteater (a) or give Oystein (joint artistic director of Imploding Fictions and OIT) a call on (0047) 986 37 123. For more info on Imploding Fictions see

We hope to see you soon at one of our readings!
